The Challenge

The holidays are typically a time of high demand for retail and grocery workers, and organizations ramp up to fill their roles early. But even in the face of a high unemployment rate brought on by the pandemic, our client, a major grocery chain with stores in five states, was finding it difficult to fill vacant and seasonal roles. With 3,000 open positions, a much-needed increase in candidate flow was quickly becoming critical to the business operation.

The Solution

The client turned to PowerSourcing for help in finding qualified candidate leads, generating interest in the chain’s most critical roles, and sending these new leads to the career site to apply.

Time was of the essence: within a two-week period, we needed to build a list of 10,000 matching talent profiles to support the recruiting team’s effort, as well as verify each potential candidate’s contact information, and conduct outreach to encourage them to apply. Working in parallel, the client’s in-house team used additional strategies, including social media campaigns and onsite hiring events to elicit candidate interest and spur applications.


The Results

PowerSourcing’s results exceeded expectations, generating a list of 15,000 verified talent profiles by deadline, contacting each of them to encourage them to apply, and providing the increased applicant flow to the career site that the client needed to accommodate the expected holiday rush.
