Aspirant Hosts 'Corporate Champions Against Domestic Violence'

News

The Pittsburgh-based management consulting and technology firm Aspirant is co-hosting a ‘Corporate Champions Against Domestic Violence’ event on June 27, 2019, with Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh (WC&S).

This event is part of Aspirant’s larger Connection of Hope campaign, which was started to help raise awareness of and prevent domestic violence. In 2018, the Pittsburgh Mayor’s office declared June 27 as “Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh (WC&S) Connection of Hope Day” in honor of the launch of the Aspirant-developed RUSafe 2.0 app aimed at domestic violence intervention through relationship assessment, safety guides, and journaling capabilities, and which is now available in three languages.

As Aspirant approaches the first anniversary of this announcement and app release, the focus for this June 27 is domestic violence at the corporate level. In fact, victims of intimate partner violence (IPV) lose a total of 8 million days of paid work each year, and the cost of IPV exceeds $8.3 billion per year, according to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

Therefore, Aspirant and WC&S will host the “Corporate Champions Against Domestic Violence” event on June 27, 2019 from 6-7:30 p.m. at WC&S’ newly renovated facility. The informal event will:

  • Connect locally based companies and leaders who are doing supportive and preventative work in their organizations around domestic violence.
  • Share ideas on how companies can become more involved in addressing the issue through volunteerism, distribution of RUSafe materials and/or joining STANDING FIRM (a program dedicated to addressing partner violence in the workplace).
  • Feature local companies in attendance, including Koppers, Aspirant, Bayer, Burson Cohn & Wolfe, and more.
Aspirant partners with business leaders to implement practical solutions to their most critical strategic, technological, and talent-related challenges. Our collaborative teams apply industry and functional expertise to help clients achieve sustainable results. We also strive to make a meaningful impact in the community by raising awareness of domestic violence and supporting victims through our Connection of Hope program.
